How to Edit a Facebook Post
Content is the king of day-to-day life on social media and Facebook is no exception. Certain recommendations say to post roughly once a day or however is best received by the audience. With that volume of content and the sometimes glitchy nature of Facebook, it may become necessary to edit a post. Luckily, page admins, editors, and other managers are able to edit a Facebook post with relative ease.
How to Edit a Post
Editing a Facebook post is simple to do and only requires four easy steps. This method works on any version of Facebook whether it is desktop or mobile/app based.
Step One: Navigate to the Facebook Page
An admin should navigate to the Facebook page that the post needs to be edited. General users cannot do this, only admins, editors, etc.
Step Two: Find the Post to Edit
Scroll down to the post that needs to be edited.
Step Three: Select the Ellipsis
On the right hand side of the post there should be an ellipsis that can be selected. This contains a list of options for admins to do with the post which we will cover each in detail separately such as deleting the post or turning off comments.
Step Four: Edit the Post
Now that the list is open, select the Edit Post option. Once that selection is made a window will pop-up with the post editor where page managers can edit the post. Make all edits and then select Save Changes.
Conclusion
Sometimes it may become necessary to edit a Facebook post. Whether that be because of a typo, update, etc., editing a Facebook post is something that should be done sparingly. For any post that is edited users will be able to view the edit history of the post which we have a tutorial on here. Now a way around this is to delete and repost but if the post is backdated it will show a clock icon indicating that the post has been tampered with in some form. Facebook puts all of these measures in place to ensure that there is page and post transparency, which is a good thing to consumers of the content.
